- How long does masonry adhesive last? Our MVIS™ adhesive mortars, can last the life of the building when mixed and used correctly at the time of installation. Our product datasheets outline complete details on mixing, installation, and use.
- Can I use construction adhesive for stone veneer? The code standards – IBC (International Building Code) and IRC (International Residential Code) – indicate what types of mortar can be used for the installation of thin adhered stone veneer. For most stone veneer installations, our MVIS adhesive mortars can be used and meet these code requirements. Depending on the substrate, there may be some exceptions to the code for certain types of installation, such as using a spot-bonding method which can be done with our epoxy-based LATAPOXY® 310 Stone Adhesive.
- What type of mortar should I use for stone veneer? The code standards – IBC (International Building Code) and IRC (International Residential Code) – indicate what types of mortar can be used for the installation of stone veneer. For most stone veneer installations, our MVIS adhesive mortars will work can be used. They all exceed current codes and will meet all the new upcoming 2024 codes.
